Parameters Saliva Drug Test

The saliva multi drug
(6) screening kit allows the tester to screen for several drugs
at once quickly and easily with no urine sample needed.
To obtain a sample, a sponge or swab is rotated throughout the mouth
for about 3 minutes. Saliva is then taken from the sponge and placed
onto a cassette. After a reaction within the cassette the results
can be read. This type of testing, although not yet cleared by the
FDA, is quickly becoming the most popular form of testing and is
considered more dignified and cleaner then testing with urine.
This drug screen detects marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamines,
opiates phencyclidine (PCP). These drug screens meet the SAMHSA
and NIDA suggested cutoff levels. These devices are meant to provide
only preliminary test results. If a sample tests positive then a
more specific method is used in order to obtain a positive confirmation.
Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is the method that
is used to obtain the confirmation and is preformed in a laboratory
setting and is highly accurate.
